In this post I am going to give you my private opinion, as a non-technical member of Generation X, on the Samsung LLN46B650 LCD Television ^[2] .

I say non-technical member of Gen-X to tell you that my most serious consideration with this TV isn’t how many whistles and bells the maker managed to incorporate inside it’s elegant frame. Rather, my main focus is the standard of the viewing experience. Bearing that in mind, here is what I was thinking about this flat screen TV. As a member of Gen-X, I have grown up right with TV technology.

Our first TV was an old black and white picture tube encased in a wooden box stuffed with the old tube technology. We did not at all have an interest in what was within the box – we were just intrigued by what we saw on the screen, without regard for how fuzzy the picture was.

And the image on those first Televisions was a long way from what you can experience with the Samsung LLN46B650. What I liked best about this HD LCD TV was the standard of darker scenes. So often when viewing a night scene or an extremely dark setting, all of the blacks in the picture appear to blur together into one huge blob. Not so with the Samsung. Irrespective of how dark the picture, each image was always sharpened and clear and highly contrasted. In reality all the colors on the Samsung LLN46B650 are pointed and clear and the depth perception in the picture is such that you’re feeling like you are watching a genuine life action scene. I was even ready to view my favorite afternoon programs while the sun was shining right into my living room. Routinely I should close my drapes in the afternoon to bypass the glare on the Television but the Samsung came through without trouble.

If you are part of the more youthful, more technically savvy generation, you will be thrilled to know the Samsung LLN46B650 also includes Yahoo! Widgets and gives you web access to test weather, stories and stocks.

There are four HDMI inputs, two parts inputs, two USB ports and an Ethernet port. But none of that really matters if you cannot tell the bad guy is hiding in the shadows and he is about to reach out and grab a hold of you?
